On 10 September 2020, the #PowerOfLiveEvents conference took place in the Puskás Arena in Budapest, Hungary. Hungarian and foreign guest speakers were invited, who talked about reviving the market, presented crisis management “best practices” and discussed event planning in this new situation.
The event was the culmination of a 17-week online marketing campaign. The Power of Live Events (POLE) initiative was set up to draw attention to the difficult situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic. More than 160 companies and organizations from 25 countries have joined the campaign, led by Special Effects International and Visual Europe Group. The conference was attended by over 300 people with COVID-19 safety measures in place.
The closing of the programme was at the Museum of Fine Arts, where a classical concert took place. In addition, a spectacular video mapping show and a pop concert was arranged at the Kiosk Restaurant. At the same time, some of the most iconic buildings in Budapest were illuminated in blue colour as part of the campaign.
